There’s plenty of family fun to be had at Bunratty Folk Park. See the rural farmhouses, village shops, streets, and a Georgian estate house. The kids will love the Viking playground, farm animals, and fairy trail at Bunratty. A family ticket costs €33.60 and the folk park is open from 9 am to 5.30 pm daily. Grab lunch at Mr. O ’Regan’s Café while your there or pop into Durty Nelly’s for dinner after. Great news, the castle is a short 15-minute drive from Limerick city centre and you’ll enjoy hours of fun here!

Doolin

On the west coast of Clare lies a small, scenic village, famous for trad music, historical sites, and the welcoming locals. Not to mention the breathtaking wild Atlantic coastline and epic outdoor adventures! There’s so much to do with the family in Doolin: scenic cliff walks, the Doolin Cave, and the Burren. The best part? It’s only an hour’s drive from Limerick, so what are you waiting for? Doolin is also known as a culinary hub and home to some great restaurants, so be sure to grab a bite to eat while there.

The Burren

30 minutes before you reach the lovely town of Doolin, make a stop off at the Burren National Park. Famous for the unique, rocky landscape and flora, it’s especially amazing in the summer months. The park is open all year round and is free to access. The information point is also free, and open from April to September. Avail of a free guided walk along the trails. If you’d rather enjoy the quality time with your family, here’s a downloadable map, so you don’t get lost! The trail lengths vary from 30-minute loops to 3-hour hikes, so choose your route wisely.

Cliffs of Moher

These magnificent, rugged cliffs overlooking the Aran Islands are definitely a must-see! The Cliffs of Moher have long been the inspiration of many works of art, poetry, and songs. Create unforgettable family memories as you walk the pathways at Ireland’s top attraction. Facilities at the cliffs include car parking, toilets, cafés, a gift shop, and more. A family ticket will set you back €10. A small price to pay for the everlasting memory of the stunning Cliffs of Moher, wouldn’t you agree? Just south of the cliffs is Lahinch Adventure Centre. Dingle Peninsula

A trip to this small port town is a must for families who enjoy a stunning, scenic drive. It’s known for its beautiful sandy beaches and colourful, sweeping landscapes. Dingle is one of our favourite places in Ireland; totally worth the 2-hour drive from Limerick. There’s a wide variety of family activities to do here. Take a boat trip out of Dingle harbour to catch a glimpse of the dolphins and whales. See the Beehive Huts, Dunquin, and the Blasket Islands.
