We at Maldron Hotel Limerick care about the environment and we are 100% committed to doing our part.
Living Green is our environmental movement which inspires care for our environment as a “Way of Life” throughout our hotel and all Maldron Hotels. Being green isn’t just an aspiration, its about action. It’s about changing how we live, both for our people and for our guests, one green step at a time.
We are constantly taking steps with our staff, with our suppliers and with our partners to build best practices which create positive impacts on our environment.
You, our guests, can play a part in our mission. We hope you see the improvements that we are making and that you can work with us on our journey to a greener, cleaner way of living. We also appreciate any feedback and are here to speak with you regarding any concerns or ideas that you have that might assist us on our journey.
Our staff play their part every day through recycling, reducing their printing needs in the office, taking advantage of our Bike to Work scheme, constantly monitoring the use of energy and by taking part in our training programs to constantly update staff on new and exciting ways to stay Green.
Our hotel has fully completed our changeover to LED lighting including our kitchen and outside car-park and we can now also independently heat individual bedrooms and floors. Our suppliers also pay their part offering more eco – friendly options. We also always where possible opt for local suppliers.

Bike to Work Scheme
As part of our Living Green Initiative, Maldron Hotels are delighted to be involved in the Cycle to Work Scheme (generally known as the Bike to Work Scheme). This is a tax incentive scheme to encourage employees to cycle to work. Under the scheme, an employer can pay for a new bicycle, and the employee then repays the cost in regular instalments from their gross salary. Maldron Hotel Limerick are delighted that to date over 30 employees have taken advantage of the scheme.
